Triumph TR2 overdrive of 1955. Restored vehicle in excellent condition. Original British vehicle, the driving position originally on the right was moved to the left by a professional in 2018. The TR2 is a rare car, as only 8,636 were produced between 1952 to 1955. It marks an important evolution of Trimuph towards the sportier models, thanks to its engine equipped with two SU H4 carburetors and tuned to increase its power to 90 hp (67 kW).
This TR2 is equipped with its original 4 cylinder engine. This one underwent a total rebuild in 2019. The pistons were replaced by forged elements, the block, the cylinder head and the crankshaft were rectified. All gaskets, the crankcase, the oil pump and the rocker arm cover in polished aluminum are new. The ignition has been replaced by an electronic system. The wiring harness is new.
The engine is fed by two Weber carburetors and coupled to a 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. The exhaust is in good condition. The shocks and leaf springs were replaced in 2013. The chromed wire wheels are in perfect condition and are equipped with 165SR15 tires with little wear.
The bodywork is sound, adjustments and flushes are correct. The paint is in good condition. The windshield, its chrome frame, the base gasket, the headlights, the lights, the grille, the chrome bumpers, the fender shoes and the beads are in excellent condition. The beige leather upholstery is in excellent condition. The dashboard instrumentation is complete. The seats and door trim are clean and the blue carpeting shows no signs of wear or soiling. The car has a 3-spoke wood rimmed aluminum steering wheel, a blue soft top and a black skai tonneau cover in good condition.
The owner notes some paint chips near the windshield bay (see picture).
