Our 5 favorite Lego Creator vintage cars

For those who love vintage vehicles, like us, and Legos, it’s hard to ignore the classics sold by Lego Creator Expert. These are not just Legos but small works of art for adults. They require a patience not unlike that necessary for the maintenance of our dear cars. Except that with the plan everything is simpler…

Lego is making progress!

In this area, Lego is doing great things and is making steady progress. The first models were quite fancy. The 10242 Mini Cooper MK VII was released 6 years ago, in 2014, and the 10252 Volkswagen Beetle in 2016. In terms of scale, they were not very realistic let’s face it… The mini is for example too large, the cox too high. And then the finish looks a bit awkward.

Since then, there have indeed been much progress in construction techniques at Lego, with a myriad of new parts closer to the original parts. The Fiat 500 is thus almost perfect, with a scale of 1/12. The body above the front and rear wheel arches tapers inward, giving the vehicle a realistic, clean look that the other two lack. Her yellow body gives her a lot of charm…

Honor to the Ferrari F40 (Set number: 10248) - ages 14 and up

With its red Ferrari dress, the lego version of the F40 looks great. With its 1158 parts, it offers with a multitude of details, retractable headlights, an opening hood, molded rim inserts and a flurry of decals. The Lego model captures the thoroughbred essence of the most powerful sports car of the early 90s and its famous 90 degree V8. But be careful, the box is no longer offered for sale, you will have to refer to the collectors market!

Volkswagen T1 Camper Van (Set number: 10220) - 16 years and over

Filled with cool finishes, the Lego T1 might be too small for a camping trip, but it is wonderfully reminiscent of the VW camper spirit, with its retractable roof, four-cylinder VW engine, and open windows to the green countryside. With its 1334 pieces, it is reserved for 16 years and over … it’s a serious game!

Dodge Charger Fast and Furious (Set number: 42111) - ages 10 and up

It is an almost exact replica of Dominic Toretto’s (Fast and Furious) iconic racing car. Based on the legendary 1970 Dodge Charger R / T, it’s packed with authentic details. The hood, which opens, includes the famous V8 engine. There are also moving pistons, a wishbone suspension, a steering system and a fan. There’s even nitro bottles in the trunk to bring Dom’s daring high-speed chases to life. It is accessible from 10 years old and includes (only) 1077 pieces.

Aston Martin DB5 James Bond ™ (Set number: 10262) - 16 years and over

This Lego model captures the elegance and timeless sophistication of Agent 007’s iconic sports car. It is packed with a host of authentic details and functional gadgets. Open the doors and you’ll discover a detailed interior with a concealable radar tracker and a door compartment containing a phone. And then, activate the passenger ejection seat, turn the rotating license plates, lift the rear window bullet-proof, deploy the tire scythes mounted on the wheels, and pull the gear lever to reveal the machine guns… a real child’s play of 1295 pieces, reserved for over 16s.

For lovers of detail and realism, this model also features a detailed inline 6-cylinder engine, lacquered front and rear bumpers, silver-colored molded rim inserts and front and rear Aston Martin logos.

Yes, we do like them

The Lego creator classics are quite special objects. Not as faithful to the originals as standard reduced models, they have a playful dimension. The link with the passion for vintage cars is not always obvious. But these are nice to play with and share with the youngest.
